Victoria Woods, CEO of ChappelWood Financial Services, and Dr. Terry Neese, founder and CEO of the Institute for Economic Empowerment of Women were among 24 distinguished leaders from the United States and around the globe who were recognized at the 21st annual Global Goddess Artemis Award ceremony at the Acropolis Museum in Athens, Greece.
Woods and Neese were recognized and honored as leaders, innovators and visionaries for impacting and supporting women.
Named after the Greek goddess of hunting and protector of women and girls, the Goddess Artemis Awards are given annually by the Euro-American Women’s Council (EAWC) to notable women and men for their distinguished achievements in the fields of business, politics, academia and the arts.
“I am honored not only to receive this award from the EAWC, but so proud for what it represents for women around the world,” Woods said. “We now live in a global economy, and people of all nations and backgrounds must stand together to continue building social and economic opportunities not only for women, but for any marginalized group who wishes to participate but lacks the strong voice.”
Woods was recognized for her work in supporting, impacting and empowering women as a wealth management leader. She serves as the finance chairman for the Oklahoma Commission on the Status of Women and hosts events to raise funds for a variety of charitable organizations.
“The Euro-American Women’s Council is known for its ability to empower women around the world and I am honored to receive this prestigious award from them,” Neese said. “I am proud to live in Oklahoma and work around the world. The knowledge I have gained working in villages, provinces, cities, and towns around the world has provided me with much inspiration.”
Neese has developed many for-profit and non-profit businesses to increase women’s roles in business ownership and shaping public policy.
As hostess of the Global Goddess Artemis Awards, The Honorable Elena Kountoura, Minister of Tourism of the Hellenic Republic, said in a statement, “Women’s contributions are invaluable in the global efforts for strategic alliances that advance innovative change, economic growth, and social prosperity, aiming to create a better future for the next generation.”
